They took away our baseball
They took away our hoops
They said you ought not scratch your nose
And stay away from groups

It’s a shame when social distancing
Doesn’t change a single thing
Viruses and loneliness
Kill old folks just the same

I remember when Corona
Was a beer best served with lime
But now it’s the Grim Reaper
Saying “you’re running out of time”

Here’s a 20/20 vision
Of how things ought to be
Let’s look out for our neighbors

And please don’t hoard the TOILETRIES!

Ain’t no need in counting
The retirement funds you’ve lost
There’s sick folks staring down barrels
Who’ll pay a higher cost

I’m pulling for those scientists
That earned those extra letters
Who skipped the parties to study
We need them more than ever

Ain’t it like a joker
To try to make a joke
But we’d better get this straight my friends
Corona’s not a hoax

Whatever you’re doing to help
Please do a little more
Look out for all the different folks
Who live beyond your door

Our team’s not red or blue
A house united stands
So keep your fingers in your pockets
After washing off your hands

When there's nowhere to hide and nowhere to turn
And it feels like there's wisdom that you never learned
Put your faith in your Father and Jesus his son
Cause the race you've been running's already been won.
