I am primarily a composer/lyricist. I have been writing songs for quite a long time, but I've never solicited the publication of any of my music. I did, however, submit some music to the major labels (back in 1991) and received consecutive rejection letters that I have proudly framed. But at that time, and since that time, I have always prided myself on being a detailed writer/composer who is rarely satisfied with the last song I wrote and always enthused about how my next song might be. My claim to fame is that I used to play in a band with Stone Temple Pilots drummer, Eric Kretz, and I am currently getting ready to work with drummer Joe Mengis (most recently toured with the Eels) on a song that is partially recorded. I had played in a band with Joe Mengis quite some time ago, too, doing shows in Portland, OR. Finally, I must mention musician/producer Kiki Rodriguez, with whom I've written many songs. Kiki is a phenomenal musician with a background in theory, arrangement, and production for several decades.
Despite my lack of self promotion, I somehow did collect royalties for 2 songs that were apparently picked up by a publisher called Score Keepers Music. The songs (or fragments of songs) that they selected were played on MTV Fear Factors - Hell and High Water, and the MTV Fear Factors - Challenge vs. Shredders. The meager earnings from these two snippets probably amount to about 200.00.
